Serving our neighbors in Jim Wells County since 1983.
Our Story
For more than 40 years, Alice Volunteer Services has provided fresh food for thousands of families in Jim Wells County. Our organization was started by a small group of faithful church members, and continues to this day with the help of wonderful volunteers from across the Alice area.
Every Wednesday we distribute free food to anywhere from 75 to 200 families in Jim Wells County at the Alice Food Pantry. We are so grateful we are able to be a blessing to our neighbors in need!
Alice Trash & Treasure is a resale store located in front of the Food Pantry. It is a retail resale outlet, and was established under the Alice Volunteer Services umbrella as a way of generating funds to buy food. Approximately 33% of the Pantry's operational budget is generated by Trash & Treasure sales. The other 67% comes from personal donations, grants and fundraisers.
Alice Volunteer Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors designated to oversee the operations of Trash & Treasure and Alice Food Pantry. By donating to Alice Volunteer Services you are making a TANGIBLE impact right here in our community. You can be assured that 100% of your donation will go straight to food assistance for those who most need it in Jim Wells County. Join us as we lift up our neighbors in need!
